NGOs play an important role in society. They help in the betterment and development of different sections of society.  The Akshaya Patra Foundation is an NGO in India that implements the government’s Mid-Day Meal Programme. It serves nutritious school meals to 1.8 million children every day in 14 states & 2 union territories of India.   

  The Akshaya Patra Foundation, an Indian mid-day meal NGO has been providing food relief service across India since the start of COVID-19 pandemic. Since March 2020, it has provided 20.6 crore meals including cooked meals & ration kits.   With the new surge in COVID-19 cases, Akshaya Patra has once again begun providing food relief in the form of Family Happiness Kits .
